Basic Burger Recipe
1 16 oz can beans
1/2 cup dry oats
1/2 cup cooked grain
2 Tbsp salsa (or something of similar consistancy - marinara sauce, tomatoes, etc)
1 Tbsp dry seasoning of your choice
Rinse & drain beans, then mash beans in bowl & add remaining ingredients. Allow to chill overnight or at least for a couple of hours. Form into burgers & cook in skillet or grill.
You can use any kind of beans or grain (rice, quinoa, etc)
One example:
1 can black-eyed peas
1/2 cup dry quinoa flakes (or dry oats)
1/2 cup cooked red quinoa
2 Tbsp Salsa
1 1/2 Tbsp garlic/pepper dry seasoning
