Is The Current Healthcare System Meeting Our Needs?
Most people today are disillusioned with the healthcare system as it currently operates. They find that, in spite of following their physician’s recommendations, their health is not improving. In fact, it appears that the longer they continue doing what the medical professionals are prescribing, the sicker they seem to be getting.
WHY? We have found, in our years of research and study that the problem isn't that physicians don't want to help; the problem is how they are trying to help. Most physicians, in their medical training, learn to treat the body as a chemical factory instead of a biological organism. They learn that when there is a symptom, you prescribe a drug to treat that symptom. If that doesn't work, or if there are some side effects to that drug, then you prescribe another drug to deal with the problem or with the side effects. The error in this approach is that when you only deal with they symptom, you don’t find what caused the symptom – the root problem. The symptom is only the physical manifestation of a deeper problem. So what is the real problem? It seems that, in general, people don't know why they are diseased! We have found ourselves in agreement with most natural healthcare providers concerning this question. There are just two basic reasons why people are sick - toxicity and deficiency. However, the underlying cause of both of these is the real problem: STRESS! There are three types of stress: Physical, Emotional/Mental, and Chemical/Nutritional. Physical Stress results from:
Emotional/Mental Stress results from:
Chemical/Nutritional Stress results from:
"Health is not absence of symptomatic disease, but instead it is when every cell in the body is performing 100% of its designed function, 100% of the time, and is communicating (coordinated) with every other cell of the body." Dr. Joel Robbins. Toxicity: When our bodies become so poisoned by what we put in it that it is no longer able to eliminate the problems and still keep us alive. This occurs not only by what we put in, but also by what we don’t put out! Deficiency: When the things with which we try to nourish our bodies are so nutritionally lacking that we do not have the materials necessary to build healthy cells. What begins to happen is the body has to "make do". In other words, it has to do its best with what materials it has with which to work - resulting in inferior cells, which in turn mean inferior tissues, organs, glands and every other part of the body. We must remember that the body's first priority is survival and as such, it will do whatever is necessary to insure that survival. Gradually the inferiority of the new cells begins to take a toll on the body systems, hence, the symptomatic problems with which we must deal. However, when we try to deal with these symptoms (such as with medication or herbs) without getting to the root of the problem, we only put more stress on the body, because we have added to it more toxins! First, we must eliminate the toxins. Stop putting poisons into our bodies. Whether they are from the air pollution, toxic foods, unhealthy water, unhealthy attitudes, or whatever else might be damaging our systems. In addition, we must help our body rid itself of the toxic substances already there. Then, as we eliminate the toxins, we must begin to nourish our bodies by feeding our cells with whole foods. Foods that are loaded with the proper materials our bodies need to rebuild. Enzymes, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins, must all be available for utilization and assimilation if we are to begin to make positive changes in our health. This is not an overnight fix. It takes a while for the body to overcome years of abuse, but it can be done. Through a commitment on your part, you can discover what it means to be truly healthy. Not just to have a good day now and then, but to have your body perform at its optimum capability the majority of the time. This is true healthcare: caring for the body in such a way as to maximize each individual cell's potential for performing its designed function, alone and in conjunction with every other cell.
