The Law of Cause & Effect
The body is constantly striving to reach a level of optimal Total Health. It will do whatever is necessary to try to keep us at that level and it will be successful unless we do something to prevent it from achieving its goal! The body operates according to strict law and order. If the laws that govern the body are broken, then the body will naturally begin to malfunction and break down. This is commonly called disease. If you provide the causes of total health, you will obtain total health. If you provide the causes of disease, you will obtain disease.
Dr. Joel Robbins, is defines disease as "a lack of health". It is what happens when any cell is not functioning 100% of its designed duty regardless of the cause. The opposite is health. Of course, we define health in different levels, but ultimately, if we are not in a state of total health, meaning every cell in our body is functioning exactly as it should, we are actually in a state of disease.
No matter what kind of healthcare practitioner you see, most claim that they have a "cure" for what ails you. However, the fact is, unless we change what we are doing "the cause" we will never change the effect. Dr. Joel Fuhrman, in his book, Fasting and Eating for Health, makes the statement, "Cure does not exist so long as the cause is permitted to continue unchecked."
One of the things that we try to encourage people to avoid is the false healing methods that abound. What are they? A false healing method is anything that suppresses the symptoms of disease without encouraging a lifestyle change to enable the body to begin healing itself. Symptomatic relief is only a short-term solution. It will not leave the body in better shape, and in fact gives the person a false sense of security, resulting in a return, in many cases, to the lifestyle that caused the problems in the first place. In fact, in many cases, we have set the body up for a reoccurrence of the symptom, and possibly a worse affliction elsewhere in the body.
We must first identify the cause of the symptom if we want it eliminated. Then we can remove the obstacles that are preventing us from achieving total health. If the cause is not identified and removed, the body does not have the chance to heal itself. Only as we remove the stresses (physical, emotional/mental, or chemical/nutritional stress) that cause disease can we enable the body to return to the state of total health that God intends us to experience.
We all have genetically inherited weaknesses ?not inherited diseases, just weaknesses that reveal potential areas of problem. These weaknesses reveal themselves as disease if we create an environment that weakens the body?s ability to maintain health. These genetic weaknesses would rarely develop into disease except that we expose ourselves to disease causing influences. Improper lifestyle and dietary habits are responsible for the majority of chronic disease. During our consultations, we help identify the genetically inherited weaknesses. We are then able to help our clients develop a course to help them regain or attain total health.
If a person truly wants to improve their health, it is vital that they begin to implement lifestyle changes. Through proper nourishment and important detoxification, the body will begin to cleanse and rebuild/heal itself from the problems that are causing their complaints. According to Dr. Fuhrman, ?To heal and detoxify, a natural-food, plant-based diet must be followed because natural plant foods not only supply the body with essential nutritive elements needed for optimal function, but also are easy on our organs of digestion and elimination. This diet often does not make a person feel better immediately. Sometimes people initially feel worse when they make positive changes to improve their health
Withdrawal symptoms from an unhealthy diet are common and can include fatigue, depression, diarrhea, skin rash, flu-like symptoms, mucous membrane congestion, coated tongue, or a variety of other things. These are detoxification symptoms, not illness. Some people will misinterpret these symptoms, thinking that the lifestyle is not working for them, or it is lacking in some essential element, a yeast overgrowth, or hypoglycemia; however, if they persevere, and do not take drugs to suppress the symptoms, they usually are gone within a couple of weeks. They then begin to have more energy, indigestion disappears, and they feel and look better than before. Sometimes, depending on the severity of the body?s decline in health, the detoxification symptoms may reoccur. There are times, when a particular symptom previously experienced and suppressed (for example pain from a sprained ankle or something similar) will manifest again, so that the body can truly heal that area.
Remember that in order to achieve Total Health, it requires more than just a change of foods. It is a total lifestyle change, incorporating each of the Components of the Total Healthcare Plan.
You don?t have to be in a state of dis-ease, choose to be healthy instead!
